Sorry, but no, unfortunately not 🙁 We really wish we could let you restart your course right away, but it’s against Duolingo’s terms of service. However, if you finish your current tree and then pause/resume it (which you can do even without finishing a tree), or do other lessons in between the times on your course, you will still gradually make progress toward the trees.

You may be able to find other language-learning apps on your phone that let you resume where you left off (Duolingo for Android uses the same database as our website – so you should still be able to use Duolingo on your phone after a gap in time), but they probably won’t have as many courses or nice features as Duolingo does. I hope this helps! Cheers 🙂

Sorry, there’s not another way around it 🙁 Just keep at it! It really isn’t all that bad; when you learn something new, there are always things that take a bit of getting used to before they become natural and easy.

Yes, you can reset your settings. If you go to the right side of your task bar and click on “learning language,” there will be a button that says “reset or remove languages.”

One cannot repeat, review, or view individual lessons.

If you change your mind about a language course, you can reset it or remove it completely from the settings page on Duolingo.com:

resetting your Duolingo course – according to what I have read, will not reset the stories you have completed. The systems are separate. However there is no advantage to reset the stories, which is why Duo has not added this possibility.

No, the owl is not evil. The owl is actually a helpful and educational tool used on the Duolingo website and app.

It takes about 5 hours to finish Duolingo Spanish.
