LinkedIn, on the other hand, doesn’t store your user data for more than 30 days. LinkedIn will not delete or “depersonalize” your account’s data for up to 30 days if it is legal to do so (for example, if law enforcement asks it to).

You can’t delete your account if it’s under investigation. Any recommendations or endorsements you’ve given or received, as well as your messages and connections, will be deleted once you close your account. Closing your account deletes all of your information from our site permanently.

Select the Me icon in the upper right corner of your LinkedIn homepage to go to your Account preferences. Select Settings & Privacy from the dropdown menu. In the Account management area of your Account preferences, choose Change next to Close account. Complete the procedure by following the on-screen instructions.

You can reactivate your LinkedIn account if it has been closed in the previous five months. You may keep your user name if you’ve closed your LinkedIn account in the last five months. If you have a long-term goal and aren’t sure where to go, join our free Facebook group and post your questions there! This will help us all.

Select Edit Account from the drop-down menu. Select Settings & Privacy from the drop-down menu in the pop-up window. Click Change next to Closing your LinkedIn account under Account management on the Account tab. Make sure you select a reason for closing your account and click Next before continuing.
