To get to your profile, tap the image at the bottom right of the screen. Tap Settings in the upper left corner. To uncheck the box next to Show activity status, go to Privacy & Security and scroll down until you find it.

When your account is disabled, the app usually displays a pop-up window informing you that the account has been canceled and giving you 30 days to reclaim it. Your account might be completely erased if it remains inactive during this period.

The Activity Status option is the one we’ll want to utilize in order to appear offline on Instagram. Now, you’ll see a little note telling you that if you switch it off, no one will be able to see your activity, but no one else’s. If you still wish to go ahead, simply press the button to turn it off!

Instagram has a new function called “Last Active” that displays to your friends when you last used the app. You’ll also see when they were active on the app and when they’re “typing” back to you.
