Plasti dip is a unique paint that protects your car against damage. This paint is excellent for covering rust and scratches. Plasti dip is easy to use and much cheaper than repainting your car or buying a new one. The revamping retains the original car’s paint job, which allows the owner to return the vehicle to its original form if desired.

How to Apply Plasti dip

The Plasti dip method, despite its name, has nothing to do with “dipping” a car into anything.

Plasti dip is applied in two ways:

A sprayer  Aerosol can.

It is best to apply Plasti dip with an electric turbine or sprayer.

Begin by thoroughly mixing the product (or shaking the aerosol can).  Then, maintain 10 to 12 inches between the sprayer and the surface. Let each coat dry for 10 to 30 minutes before applying the next.  Wait for at least four years for the paint to dry.

 Plasti dip Primer Application

It is also known as a two-part primer, and you can use it as a base coat before applying other types of paint. It usually requires two coats, but it might need three or even four coats if you want to achieve a deeper colour or better coverage.

 Steps

  1. Thoroughly clean your car with soap and water.

 2) Dry off all the excess water

  1. Apply the first coat.

  2. Allow it to dry completely.

  3. For the final coat, allow at least 48 hours before applying any other type of paint over it.
